The Example of Christ
We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. – Romans 15:1-2
This is a reminder to be humble, always. No matter where you are in life and in your walk with God, there will always be others that follow after you. It's our responsibility to guide those who have less experience than us, not out of pride, but out of humility. For we once were also naive before knowing Christ and must not forget that.
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 15:5-6
The life of a Christian is not a sprint, but a marathon. It's a battle of endurance and being persistent. We must learn to fight this war of attrition. That is why our God is the God of endurance–because we need his timeless help to continue each day. That is why our God is the God of encouragement–for without encouragement, it'll be very hard for us to continue onwards.
Therefore welcome one another as Christ as welcomed you, for the glory of God. – Romans 15:7
We must remember that while we were still sinners, Christ welcomed us. Christ set the example that we should follow. Therefore, we should take care to welcome one another in the same manner that we were welcomed by Christ and by those who helped us along our journey to salvation.
Every weekend I write about some thoughts, life lessons, and interesting things I came by for the week. I'd love for you to join.
