Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
Let us not forget that it is God who gives us all things. We own nothing in this world.
It wasn't due to our hard work that we got to where we are. It wasn't due to our talent that we are here.
It's all thanks to the grace and mercy of God.
Therefore, it is foolish to work hard off of purely our own ambition, which Paul describes as selfish and conceited.
We should be humble before God.
And the way we should express humility before God is to be humble before others, whom He created as well.
Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation...
Be only heads-down and do your work, so that you don't give any ammunition to your enemies to charge you with.
The world will not be fair to us. The world was never fair to begin with. They will use all the worst tricks possible against us, for they are truly crooked and twisted beyond repair.
However, it's not a reason for us to use such tactics.
We must act in such a way to not give them any excuse to call us out.
Every weekend I write about some thoughts, life lessons, and interesting things I came by for the week. I'd love for you to join.
