Prisoner For Christ
The word prisoner sounds like a bad thing. Governments put bad people in prison, right?
But Paul consistently calls himself a prisoner for Christ in most of his letters, including this short one. Does that mean God is jailing Paul for following him?
No. It's the people of the world that put Paul in jail.
In addition to bad people, governments will also imprison those who they deem a threat. That means they view Jesus as a threat to their power because Jesus exposes the truth of their sin, greed, and corruption.
True zeal knows no bounds–to the point that you're willing to suffer and die. To be so laser-focused that you disregard everything else–that is why Paul is in prison.
Every weekend I write about some thoughts, life lessons, and interesting things I came by for the week. I'd love for you to join.
