Acts 15
Men from Judea came down and taught that unless people are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, they cannot be saved. Paul and Barnabas disagreed and went up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders, hoping to sort things out.
Upon arrival, some believers who belonged to the Pharisees continued to emphasize circumcision. After much debate, Peter gave a passionate speech about how the Holy Spirit doesn't distinguish between Jews and Gentiles.
James suggested writing a letter of encouragement to the Gentile believers. Upon receiving the letter, they rejoiced.
Paul and Barnabas planned to return to visit the brothers in every city where they proclaimed the word of the Lord to see how they are. They disagreed on which companions to take, and ultimately ended up separating.
