I warned those who sinned before and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that if I come again I will not spare them. – 2 Corinthians 13:2
Paul urges us to turn away from sin. He threatens that upon his third visit he will not spare the sinners. There's a sense of urgency in his tone.
Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?–unless indeed you fail to meet the test! – 2 Corinthians 13:5
We all need to examine our own faith. This goes for everyone in the church, especially for those who claim to be followers of Christ. Is it really Christ that we believe in? Or is it the signs and miracles? Is it the creator that we worship, or do we simply worship His creation?
No one is exempt from taking this test. We all will be judged by God's same standard, so it helps us to prepare ahead of time.
Every weekend I write about some thoughts, life lessons, and interesting things I came by for the week. I'd love for you to join.
