1 Timothy 2
Pray for All People
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. – 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Pray not just for yourself.
Pray not just for your family.
Pray not just for your friends.
Pray for those in high positions, like kings, presidents, and politicians.
Pray for strangers.
Pray for your enemies.
Pray for the people that you will meet one day.
Pray for the people that you have not met.
Pray for the people that you will never meet.
Why?
This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. – 1 Timothy 2:3-4f
Because God has His heart set on every person in the world, not just you and I.
Because all have sinned, yet God extended His grace to all through Jesus.
Because we used to walk in darkness but that changed when we received the Good News.
Because we want to freely share our saving faith with others.
