Lawsuits Against Believers
So if you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who have no standing in the church? I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to settle a dispute between the brothers, but brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers? – 1 Corinthians 6:4-6
Paul scolds the church of Corinth for having lawsuits amongst the brothers to settle disputes.
To have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? – 1 Corinthians 6:7
Paul argues that it is so embarrassing for brothers in Christ to have to go before the law to settle disputes among themselves that he would rather suffer the wrong than the shame.
Every weekend I write about some thoughts, life lessons, and interesting things I came by for the week. I'd love for you to join.
